Paradise Villa sits on a thin wedge of land in a dense Mumbai neighbourhood. This ground structure is wedged in middle of sloping roof houses. The brief of the project was to restore the house, by keeping its older profile intact. Being a thin infill surrounded by tall structure, the prime concern was to bring light in the house. The skeleton of the roof was re-configured to form sky lights in the house. The sky light was positioned above a suspended metal deck. A staircase made up of a folding metal plate rises in the

living room to reach this deck. One part of roof is released to sky forming an intimate terrace between the house and neighbouring stone wall.
