The site is a linear courtyard nestled in-between three commercial buildings. The brief was to transform this piece of void into an outdoor recreational space for the office community. A semi open triangulated roof system was developed for the courtyard, which plugged onto the existing edge of the building. The roof raised itself at the centre of the court forming a high volume and a sudden flood of light. The profile of the roof is lowered towards the rain directions. At the edge it takes off again and harmoniously adapts to the surrounding building line. The landscape features such as a water body, flower beds, grass bed and seating bring more life into the courtyard. These features enliven the courtyard offering the people a space to pause and enjoy a cup of coffee.
